This useful map of neighborhoods in New Orleans will show you everything that this great city has to offer and the wonderful variety and living possibilities there is to be found here. Choosing what part of the city is best is impossible because each neighborhood has its charm.

Some may want to live in a walkable neighborhood, so it’s no surprise that the French Quarter takes the cake for being the most walkable–with markets, restaurants, shops, and live music options all within close proximity of each other. On the other hand, you may not want to live right in the center of New Orleans’ bustling tourist scene, so it’s a good thing the French Quarter is only a quick drive from any other part of the city.

If you’re in the business industry and want to live close to work, the Central Business District could be ideal for you with its great condos and easy access to the many office buildings and hubs that call New Orleans their home. With everything right there, you may not even need a car to get around.

There are plenty of other neighborhoods to choose from. You could choose the Lower Garden District for its colorful charm or the Garden District for its history and parks. Or, keeping with the famed cultural blend in New Orleans, you’ll find the Irish Channel in the heart of the city, within walking distance from the shops on Magazine Street.

Go uptown New Orleans to St Charles Avenue to see gorgeous homes and incredible scenery on every block. Or Central City with its combination of historical places, movie venues, and the Ashe Cultural Arts Center. Some will say that Algiers Point is one of the most family-friendly neighborhoods in New Orleans. It also boasts world-famous restaurants and live music almost every night. And it’s located just across the Mississippi River from central New Orleans but easily accessible by a quick, serene ferry boat ride. A perfect opportunity to wind down from your day.

There is so much living to do in New Orleans, cradled between the Mississippi and Lake Pontchartrain. With a myriad of other charming communities like the Marigny, Bayou St. John, and River Ridge, there are endless living possibilities.
